Visit the Cheviot Hills - only 20 minutes’ drive away - ideal for walking or cycling.
Follow National Cycle Route no. 68, which runs past the cottage.
Castles at Alnwick, Warkworth, Bamburgh and Chillingham.
National Trust and English Heritage properties at Cragside, Wallington, Brinkburn Abbey, Belsay etc.

The coast: Northumberland’s beaches are vast, clean, sandy and quiet. Great for children, walkers and bird watchers!
